The new school year kicks off with an all-school, whole-family event. Spend the evening with Poly friends and meet new ones. Experience the best of the Poly community under the lights with a view of the Verrazzano that can’t be beat.
- 3:40 PM: Students gather in Quad for Poly spirit pep rally
- 4:00 PM: High octane Varsity action begins
- 4:00 PM: Poly pop-up shop and food stalls open
- 4:00 PM: PA and HUGs tables open
- 4:30 PM: Bouncy rides and activities open
- 7:30 PM: Grab a bleacher seat and get ready to cheer for Varsity Football
- 8:30 PM: Lower School’s Grade 4 spectacular halftime soccer match, plus Dance Team performance
Show your spirt and wear your fave Blue Devil gear. Let your children run, play, and MAKE SOME NOISE!

Go Poly Blue Devils! Find the action on the fields and courts starting at 4:00PM. Bring your spirit and cheer on our student-athletes at the Steinberg Athletic Complex, soccer field, tennis courts, and Novogratz Center for Athletics. Make some noise!

For our younger Blue Devil fans, we have a variety of family-friendly good times planned at Dyker! You can find all these activities on the Backfields starting at 4:30 PM!
- Not one, not two, but THREE inflatable bouncy rides! That’s a lot of bouncing.

Fuggedaboutit. What’s a Blue Devil party without food and swag?! Check out the best food truck convoy near the backfields. Cash or credit accepted at food trucks. What’s on the menu?

HUGs Welcome Back Reception
HUGs—Historically Underrepresented Groups—was formed by Poly parents in 2017 to help foster unity, understanding, and activism in the Poly community.
Join us at our first HUGs get together of the new school year at 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the Joseph Dana Allen library. Light refreshments will be served.
New and returning members of Poly’s (HUGs) groups are invited to join Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Erika Freeman P’24, ’26, ’28, ’32 for conversations that build community. We’ll talk about our DEIB work this year and answer any questions. You can also find HUGs members at tables in the backfields.
This is a great opportunity to meet Poly’s faculty and staff who are part of our DEIB department.
Blue Devil Night FAQs

Are there going to be 6:00 PM buses?
No, there will be no 6:00 PM buses. Middle and Upper School students who take the bus and are not attending Blue Devil Night must use the 4:00 PM bus.

Could my Middle School student stay for the action?
All Middle School students should take the 4:00 PM buses home UNLESS their parent/guardian meets them at the event by 5:00 PM. Please register if your student intends to stay..

Do I need to RSVP?
It’s helpful for our operations team to have an idea of how many people to expect. We won’t hold you to it, but if you’re thinking about coming, RSVP here.

Is parking available?
Parking on site is EXTREMELY limited. Street parking is available. We encourage public transportation or rideshares to campus.

What are the food options?
There will be a variety of food vendors and choices with more details coming soon.

Does food cost money and what are payment options?
Food is available for purchase on site. Payment can be made with cash or with digital options.

I need some Poly swag! How can I buy Poly gear?
There will be a Poly swag pop-up store near the backfields with Blue Devil merch. Credit card or Venmo payment only.

Oh no, it's raining. Is there a rain date?
For athletic competitions, unless there is lightning forecasted, this is a rain or shine event. Note, if inclement weather, other non-competition activities may be canceled. This webpage will be updated accordingly.

Can I bring friends who don't go to Poly?
Yes, the more the merrier! We welcome friends and family to accompany you. Everyone coming to our campus is subject to our visitor policy.
